When signals appear on stage…then the railway clearly plays an important role in the theatre. The plot of Horváth’s play „Der jüngste Tag“ is a tragedy (not only) from the perspective of railway operations: a signal left unset, a collision between two trains, 18 dead.
Stefan took the opportunity to speak at the Salon Seminar at the Schauspielhaus Graz (thanks, Male!), where, against the backdrop of the story in Horváth’s play Der jüngste Tag centring on stationmaster Hudetz, he spoke briefly about railway signalling technology through the ages. In the subsequent discussion and Q&A session, he was supported by Martin Aldrian from ÖBB, who also provided insights into the responsible role of train dispatchers (thanks, Martin!). What a wonderful experience!
